LANZHOU, China – A significant milestone was achieved at the National Laboratory of Heavy Ion Accelerator (HIRFL) in Lanzhou. On December 25, the IH-DTL2 (Interdigital H-Mode Drift Tube Linac) meticulously manufactured by Kelin Company successfully passed cold test acceptance at the Institute of Modern Physics (IMP), Chinese Academy of Sciences.

 

Through nearly two days of rigorous testing, the accelerator demonstrated outstanding performance across all critical parameters:

Frequency accuracy fully met specifications

Tuning range perfectly matched physical requirements

Field distribution showed exceptional agreement with theoretical design

Q-value (Quality Factor, key indicator of cavity energy efficiency) reached 90% of design specification

 

These results validate Kelin's profound technical expertise in accelerator manufacturing and confirm that the company's precision cavity fabrication capabilities have reached international standards.

 

As the core component of the under-construction injector for HIRFL's Sector-Separated Cyclotron (SSC), the IH-DTL2's performance is crucial to the injector's operational success and carries significant implications for the national laboratory's sustainable development.
